It just wouldn't be the holiday season without Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, and this year our cup runneth over. The Lincoln Center is offering not one, not two but three different productions of the beloved ballet favorite, all with multiple dates.
Every year, Mountain Dance has a tradition of adding a new and special twist to the story line - this year, Clara and her sister Francine journey to different cities where they discover and celebrate the gift of dance.
Performance dates are: Nov 30 at 7:00pm, Dec 1 at 2:00pm & 7:00pm, and Dec 2 at 2:00pm.
This is Canyon Concert Ballet's 31st year of performing this classic in northern Colorado, and will feature guest choreographer Stefanie Kitty Block and the Fort Collins Symphony. The performances promise a "roller coaster ride, with new twists and turns in every scene".
Performance dates are: December 6, 7 & 8 at 7pm and December 8 & 9 at 2pm.
The Nutcracker season ends this year with three full performances of the Nutcracker by Contemporary Dance Academy and award-winning choreographer Polly Creer Sutton, with stunning sets and beautiful new costumes.
Performance dates are: Dec 14 at 7:00pm and Dec 15 at 2:00pm & 7:00pm.
Not sure which Nutcracker to see this year? Ticket prices for all of these productions are very reasonable - why not see them all? Ticket are available from the Lincoln Center ticket office at 417 W. Magnolia, Fort Collins CO, 970-221-6730 or on-line.
