Looking back on last year, it's always interesting and fun to take a look at the extremes for size and price in our Fort Collins real estate market. Here are the homes that set the limits for 2014:
Topping the list was 6343 Rookery Rd., located in the very desirable Fossil Lake neighborhood in Fort Collins. It sold for an even $2,000,000. This gorgeous 10,375 sq.ft. 2 story home offered 4 bedrooms, 5 baths, a 4-car garage, with lots of extras and high-end finishes, and water and mountain views, on .85 acres.
Setting aside mobile, manufactured and modular homes, the least expensive home sold in the Fort Collins area was 468 Elk Horn Trail in Bellvue, which closed for $97,500. This 1,296 sq.ft. cabin located in Buckhorn Canyon, sits on 4 acres of wooded land. It isn't quite finished, and has 2 bedrooms, no bath and no utilities at the present time.
The biggest home sold last year was 200 Gregory Rd. in Fort Collins, topping the charts at a whopping 13,199 sq.ft. This historic home began life as a renovated cherry mill, but had fallen on hard times, needed substantial repair, and sold as a foreclosure for $640,000. It sits on 6.2 acres, has 5 bedrooms, 5 baths, and a barn & indoor arena.
The smallest home to sell last year in Fort Collins was 508 S Overland Trail. This 1 bedroom 1 bath bungalow measures just 400 sq.ft. and sits on a 3,359 sq.ft. lot. It has been used as a rental property for the last 10 years, has a 1-car garage and views of the foothills. It sold for $110,000.
